West Funeral Held Friday Afternoon Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church Friday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. D. W. West (Emma Agnes Nordman) for 61 years a resident of this community. Rev. O. Hamblen conducted the services, assisted by Tom E. Smith, minister of the Church of Christ. Request numbers were sang by Misses Ann O'Neal and Imogene Bennett. Burial was in the Mt.Olive cemetery with Collier Bros. Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers were J. B. Doss, Emmet Chase, Frank McBride, Newt Odom and J. W. Moore. Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Ed (Rose) Moore, Healdton, four sons, Chuck West, Healdton, Boss West, Shreveport, Louisiana, Leonard West, Santa Fe, Joe West, Long Beach, California and large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. West was a long time member of the Baptist Church and, during her residence in this community, had made a host of friends who regret her passing. Her husband preceded her in death. Printed March 5, 1945 in "The Healdton Herald" in Carter Co., Oklahoma. Background information: Emma Agnes Nordman was born 1861 in Hamilton Co., Ohio and attended parochial school. Her parents were William Henry Nordman (1815 Hanover, Germany, 1909 Carter Co.) and Mary Caroline Campbell (182?, New York, 189? Carter Co.); they were married 1837 in St. Peter in Chains Cathedral in Hamilton Co., Ohio. Her siblings included John Nordman, Louis Ambrose Nordman, Laura Nordman Cox, Charles Nordman, Frank Nordman, S. George Nordman, and Anna Nordman. Emma married David West 1881 Montague Co., Texas; they moved to Chickasaw Nation in late 1884.
