PRIMROSE Funeral services for Alan B. Primrose, 59, of Davis were July 20 at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Joughin officiating. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery. Primrose was born June 3, 1943 , in Ardmore and died July 17, 2002, at DVA Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was raised by his maternal grandmother, Jennie A. Hill, and in 1961 was an All American in football while attending Ardmore High School. He served in the U. S. Marines and was selected honor man of his platoon in recruit training, achieving this in 11 weeks. For showing great leadership ability, he received the Distinguished Leatherneck Magazine Honor Dress Blues. He was inducted into the Shuffleboard Hall of Fame at Wynnewood in May of 2002. He was self-employed by Primrose Construction. Primrose was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Hill, a brother, Gary LaQuey, and his stepfather, Jack La Quey. Survivors include his father and stepmother, his mother, two daughters; a son; five sisters,; two grandchildren; a special friend, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers were Ben Watson, Joe Dickerson, Bill Melton, John Leverett, Leonard Quaid and Dick Jones. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Ardmore Class of 1961, Cliff Gulf, David Pitmon and Ronnie Pierce. Fox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorials can be made to the Scholarship Fund in Ardmore."
