All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED The Bakersfield Californian 6 February 2005 Bobby Dean Puckett February 8, 1931-February 4, 2005 Visitation for Bobby Dean Puckett will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles St.) on Tuesday, February 8, 2005, from 5 8 p.m. and a Memorial service will be held at Westside Church of Christ (7300 Stockdale Hwy), Wednesday, February 9, 2005, at 11 a.m. Mr. Garth Black will officiate. Bobby was born on February 8, 1931, in Wilson, Oklahoma, and he passed away on February 4, 2005, in Bakersfield. Bobby started his law enforcement career in 1953 with the Merced Police Dept. After a brief time with the Merced Police Dept., he went to work with the California Highway Patrol, resigning as a Sergeant in 1966. Bobby then accepted a position with the State Labor Commissioner in Bakersfield. During his tenure with the state, Bobby studied law and was admitted to the California Bar in 1979. Bobby retired from the state in 1980 and practiced law until a recent illness. Bobby was a long time member of the Westside Church of Christ. His greatest joys were his family, cooking, working in his bountiful garden, and his Oklahoma Sooners. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Emogene Puckett; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Mary Puckett; daughters and sons-in-law, Patti and Stan Scharry, Susan and Terry Wood, and Nancy and Guy Beagley; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Dolores Puckett; sister, Shirley Puckett. He was a beloved PAPA to eleven grandchildren, Dustin, Carrick, Caitria, Trevor, Karah, Victoria, Camille, Bradley, Daniel, Gordon, and Clayton; three great grandchildren, Emilia, Gabriel, and Reagan; and leaves numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many, many friends.
