' Funeral for Ira Ratliff, 84, retired police officer, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m., from Harvey chapel. Ratliff died Sunday morning in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Georgia Berry, 734 Fourth avenue northeast. He served as deputy under Carter county's first sheriff, Holmes Akers, was Marshall under Buck Garrett and also served as deputy under Ewing London, Floyd Randolph and Willis Tennyson. A native of Rains county, Texas, he married Sara Elizabeth Scarborough, Sulphur Springs, Texas in 1902 and moved to Ardmore in 1905, two years before statehood. Survivors in addition to Mrs. Berry include his wife, Sara, of the home address: one step-son, John Cornelison, Weatherford, Texas; two brothers, Fann Ratliff, Lone Oak, Texas, and Lawrence Ratliff , Celeste, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Clyde Patterson, Emory, Texas; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Grandchildren are Mrs. Bill Cole, Norman; Mrs. Don Finley, Harold Berry, Mrs. Earl Mann, Edgar Berry and Andrew Berry, all of Ardmore. The Rev. Ed M. Bice, pastor of the Assembly of God Church, Fort Worth, Texas, will preside at the service. Pallbearers are Walter McKiney, A.L. Senter, Fred Nall, Fred Hudson, Lonnie Lowe and Dick Naler.'
