She was born Aug. 5, 1908 in Reck, OK to Walter M. and Lucy Ann (Dowdy) Hallum. Over the years she was a resident of Oklahoma City, Norman, Nicoma Park and Midwest City. Oma Ray married Roy C. Self July 29, 1929. He preceded her in death March 16, 1993. They were married 63 years. She worked for Continental Bakery in Oklahoma City, was a homemaker, member of Nicoma Park First Baptist Church and the Choctaw Sr. Citizen's Center. Mrs. Self is survived by five daughters, two sons and their spouses, Betty and Floyd Deaton of Del City, Ann and Walter Deaton of Shawnee, Rosa and Howard Falk of Braddyville, IA, Norma and John Easley of Midwest City, Carolyn and Joe Jarvis of Kingston, Roy Clayton and Mildred Self of Sterling, Alaska and Marvin Self. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, a sister , a brother, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were a brother, Loyd Hallum, a sister, Elsie Kovelda and a great grandson, Jonathan Falk. Services will be conducted by Ford Funeral Service at 10am Thursday at the Nicoma Park Baptist Church with Dr. Mark Walters and Chaplain Jim McCool officiating with burial at Arlington Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Hospice Quality Care, 921 S. Sooner Rd, Midwest City, OK. Ford Funeral Service 305 S.
