Born in Wilson, Okla., she was a Yuba-Sutter resident for 56 years. She worked as a line sorter for Del Monte, Libby, McNeil and Libby and Tri Valley Growers Canneries for 30 years. She was a member of the Gray Avenue Christian Church in Yuba City. Also she was a former member of Teamsters Cannery Union Local 857, Oroville, and of Yuba City Gleaners. Survivors include two daughters, Tami June Hazen of Redding and Diana Lynn Dirks of Tucson, Ariz.; two sons, Ronald Gene Staten of Las Vegas, Nev., and Donald James Staten of Waverly, Tenn.; three brothers, Clifford Chance of Yuba City, W.B. Chance of Gridley and Robert Chance of Rocklin; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Allen Donald Staten; a son, William Lee Staten; a daughter, Sheila Marie Hinckley; a special friend, John Pelfrey; and a grandson. Donations may be made to Alzheimer's Society of Northern California, P.O. Box 1824, Sacramento, CA 95812. Services: Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Chapel of the Twin Cities, 715 Shasta St. in Yuba City. A service is scheduled at 1 p.m. Wednesday also at the chapel. Pastor Lee Roberts of Gray Avenue Christian Church in Yuba City will officiate. Burial will be in Sutter Cemetery.
