All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Rose Hill Burial Park--OKC OK Tayar, Kenneth (Salah) Kenneth (Salah), the youngest child of Hafeetha Diab and Nocholas John Tayar, was born July 17, 1923, in Healdton, OK. He passed away March 7, 2003, after an extended illness. His family moved to OKC, where he graduated in the class of 1942 from Classen High School, lettering in track. He enlisted in the US Army Air Corp in 1943 to serve his country during WWII in India and was in charge of supplying the Burmese front. He was honorably discharged in 1946 decorated with the Good Conduct Medal and returned to his loving family. As a first generation American, he appreciated an unyielding love for the American flag and was a true patriot. He was equally proud of his heritage and kept true to the traditions taught to him by his parents who emigrated from Lebanon. He then married Lola Arbuckle in St. Elijah Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church where they were members of the choir and SOYO. He read the Bible from cover to cover. He worked in the grocery trade until 1960 then as a professional salesman, a manufacturer's representative and in the wholesale industry until his retirement in 1984. Preceding him in his heavenly home are his parents and four siblings, Juliene DeBakey, Dorothy Shadid, John Tayar and Laurece Shadid, his niece, Cherene Shadid Clark, and his great nephew, Zayd Zubaidi. Our Jidi (Grandfather) is survived by his loving sister, Pauline Rahill, his wife in Christ, Lola Tayar, daughter and sonin-law, Jaynee and Bill Silvernail, grandchildren, Jay and Brenda Silvernail and Greg and Susan Silvernail, great grandchildren, Tanner, Nicholas, Preston, Sophia, and Alexandria and many loving nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his loving companion, Louise Autery, and her children, David and Barbara Autery, Debbie and Ed McGrew, and grandchildren, Dallas, Kari and Rob Lane, Shaun, Shelly, Sheldon Sims, and great grandchildren, Cheyenne, Savannah, and Jaxon. Officiated by the Very Reverend Father Constantine Nasr, Economos, Father Basil McMurry, and Father John Mefrige, the Trisagion Service and Funeral Liturgy will be held Sunday, March 9, at 6:30 pm at St. Elijah Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, 15000 N.
