The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ====================================================== March 9, 1963 (Newspaper unknown) Services Are Held For Mrs. Holland At First Baptist Church Funeral services for Mrs. Allie Holland, 85, longtime Cherokee resident who died in a Cherokee hospital Thursday, were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, in the First Baptist Church, Cherokee. Rev. W.H. Heath officiated during the services and interment was in the Cherokee Municipal cemetery, under the direction of Hodge-Smith Funeral Home. Mrs Holland was born Nov. 15, 1877, in Gainesville, Tex., came to Marietta before statehood, then moved to Cherokee in 1921. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Cherokee, and was past president of the Missionary Society. Survivors include one son, Carroll, Alva; two daughters, Mrs. Forrest (Paula) Hale and Mrs Ralph (Frances) Weber, both of Cherokee; two brothers, George C. Dyer, Richardson, Tex.; Eddie H. Dyer, Ft. Worth, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Fred Hedden, Hiawassee, Ga.; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Her husband, W.R. Holland preceded her in death in March, 1937. A son, Reid, also died in April 1942.
