Files may be printed or copied for personal use only. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *************************************************************** TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS TAHLEQUAH, OK FEBRUARY 24, 2002 BLANCHE DURHAM GIBSON Tahlequah--Funeral services for Blanche Durham Gibson, 91, will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002 at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Kime officiating. Burial will follow in Tahlequah City Cemetery, under the direction of Hart Funeral Home. Blanche Durham Gibson, daughter of George T. and Susannah (Hill) Durham, was born Sept. 19th, 1910 at Goose Neck Bend in Muskogee County, and died Friday, Feb. 22, 2002 in Tahlequah. An elementary school teacher for 36 years, Blanche taught at Proctor, Yellow Hammer and Bald Hill schools. Blanche was a member of the Pythians, the V.F.W., A.A.R.P., Tahlequah Senior Citizens and the Southside Baptist Church. Blanche was a dedicated teacher, farm wife and mother. She enjoyed extension meetings and practiced home canning, metal etching and quilting. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eulan C. Gibson; her parents, George and Susie Durham; three sisters and one brother. Survivors include he son and daughter-in-law, Fred Allen and Barbara Gibson of Tahlequah; one granddaughter, Amanda Gibson of Indio Calif.; one great- grandson, Joshua Allen Gibson; and a host of friends and loved ones.
