CAROLYN WEDDELL
     Tahlequah--Celebration and remembrance services for Carolyn Weddell, of 
Tahlequah, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2002 at First Untied 
Methodist Church with Rev. John Price officiating.

     Carolyn Weddell, daughter of the late James Cottam and Mary Low Cottam, was 
born January 26, 1906, in Indian territory and departed this life on April 13, 
2002 in Tahlequah, at the age of 96.

     Raised in Oklahoma, Carolyn attended what is now Northeastern State 
University and then moved to Burbank, Calif., where she lived for the next 50 
years.  In California, she worked as a bookkeeper for an insurance company and 
was a devoted volunteer for her church.

     Carolyn's zest for life was exemplified by the cherished times she spent 
with her many friends going to the beach, to Dodger's baseball games, or any of 
the other activities she enjoyed while in southern California.

     In 1981, she moved to Tahlequah, where she enjoyed gardening and working in 
her flowerbeds.  

She loved all animals, particularly birds, and enjoyed spending time outdoors.  
Carolyn's positive outlook on life, kindness towards others and generous spirit 
always made everyone around her feel very special and will continue to bring 
comfort for years to come to those who knew her.

     Survived by three generations of nephews and nieces and a host of friends 
and loved ones, all will dearly miss their "Aunt Carolyn"
