Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery, under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home. Casketbearers will be Bud Mitchell, David Mitchell, Steve Cumby, John Waters, John Murry and Wayne Cruze. Honorary casketbearers include Bill Reese, Tom Canady, David Pride and Roy Hayes. Ernest Edison Canady II, "Ed," was born Dec. 31, 1945 in Long Beach, Calif., to Ernest Edison Canady I and Madeline (West) Canady. Ed honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force for two tours in Vietnam. He attended the Crescent Valley Baptist Church and was a carpenter by trade. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Madeline Canady; and one son, Raymond Shepherd. Ed is survived by his wife, Martha Oretha (Mitchell) Canady; three daughters, Jeannie Davenport, Carolyn White and husband Robert, and Tina Louisa Canady; two sons, William Shepherd and Christopher Shepherd Canady; eight grandchildren; and many extended relatives and friends.
