Ethel was born in a community in Cherokee County called Woodard and known now as Camp Gruber. She attended school at Moren Chapel and Manard in Cherokee County. She married Tyrus Cecil Gilliam on November 29, 1929 at Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Ethel was a wonderful cook and loved making quilts. She leaves behind two daughters, Wanda Jackson and husband Randall, and Anna Mae Corbell and husband Gene, two sons, Louie Gilliam and wife Wanda and Gary Gilliam and wife Dorothy all of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, two sisters, Myrtle Fausett of Muskogee and Bessie Odell of Coweta, one sister-in-law, Opal Jordan of Ft Gibson, ten grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends. Ethel was preceded in death by her husband Tyrus, her parents and two brothers, John Henry Jordan and Eslie 'Son' Jordan. Services will be 2 PM Saturday May 15, 2004 at Reed-Culver Chapel with Rev Don Landers officiating. Burial will follow at Holland Cemetery in Cherokee County under the direction of the Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah. Pallbearers will include: Randy Jackson, Mike Corbell, Kenny Gilliam, Johnny Gilliam, Pete Jackson, Mark Corbell and Brady Gilliam Annette Crafton Corbell
