Mr. Davis was born [at the South Fork area of] Pawnee [County] Nebraska January 9, 1875. He moved to Tahlequah from Prairie Grove, Ark. 40 years ago and occupied himself as a barber until the past few years. He is survived by two sons, [William] Houston Davis, Jackson, Miss. and Dan Davis, Jenks, Okla. Local barbers showed their respect for their fellow barber by closing' their shops several hours during the funeral services- which were conducted by Rev. Max L. Johnson from tbe Reed-Culver Chapel at 2:30 Tuesday. The following members of the barbering profession were active pallbears while others were honorary: Loyd Baker, Clyde Centers,Shelly Osbun, Clifford Dufield, Oacar Webb and W.F. Hibbard. Internment was at Tahlequah City Cemetery.
