Paul Tavener, Rev. Joe Tschirhart and Dr. David Blake officiating. Burial will follow in Tahlequah City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home. Elaine Grimm, daughter of Fred and Minnie (Rich) Springborn, was born Feb. 4, 1922 in LaSalle, Ill., and departed this life Saturday, March 30, 2002 in Tahlequah after reaching the age of 80 years, 1 month and 26 days. The fourth of six children, Elaine, along with her brothers and one sister, lived at Ebenezer Evangelical United Brethren Home in Flat Rock, Ohio, following the death of their mother. She later returned to LaSalle, Ill., during her high school days, after which she did defense work at Westclox in Peru, Ill., during World War II. She later attended business college, and upon graduation she took a position with Scripture Press Publications in Chicago, in the finance division, where she worked for 36 years. It was here she also met Willis Grimm, whom she later married in 1963. In 1983, she and Willis retired to Hot Springs Village in Arkansas. Soon thereafter, she became involved in teaching Stonecraft Bible classes and also became a member of the Village Bible Church. In 1993, they moved to Go Ye Village in Tahlequah, where she has been active in volunteer work in the Village, as well as at the First Evangelical Free Church. She has also spent many hours knitting, especially baby sweaters for her great-grandchildren and others. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Alvin Springhhorn; and two sisters, Marie Springhorn and Crystal Mercer. Survivors are her husband, Willis, of Go Ye Village; one son, George Grimm and wife Judy of Anchorage, Alaska; one daughter, Phyllis Wehrle and husband of Ridgewood, N.J.; two brothers, Merle Springhorn of Virginia Beach, Va., and Julius Springhorn of Rocky Mount, N.C.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many loved ones and friends.
