Floyd Eugene "Gene" White
 
I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, 
the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all 
them also that love his appearing II Timothy 4; 7-8.

Funeral services for Gene White will be held Monday, May 23, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. 
with Rev's. Bill Joe Jackson and Don Niblett officiating. Burial will be at 
Holland Cemetery under the direction of Green Country Funeral Home Chapel. Those 
serving as pallbearers will be David Green, Wayne Church, George Clinton, 
Bill Trammel, Gerald Trammel and Larry Marshall. Honorary Pallbearers will be 
Jimmy Bell, Joe M. Tillman and Henry Hicks.

Gene White was born on September 5, 1939 in Manard, Cherokee Co., OK to Edmond 
and Maude (Huitt) White and passed from this life on Thursday, May 19 at his home 
in Lowrey after a lengthy battle with Leukemia. Gene attended school at Manard, 
Ft. Gibso n and Hulbert before marrying the love of his life, Patsy Rotramel on 
September 1, 1956. To this union were born four children; Carla, Owen, Sandra 
and Terrill. Throughout the years Gene worked several jobs from working in the 
ship yards in San Francisco Bay to peddling fruit but is probably most known in 
Tahlequah for owning the Tire Shed on the south side of town throughout the early 
80's and also as a fence contractor for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Gene was 
an avid farmer and loved to work with his cows and admired the work he had done on 
the 20 acres he and his wife lived on in northern Cherokee County. He also enjoyed 
"wheeling and dealing" through the radio program "TradeWinds" and loved going to 
livestock sells.

Gene will probably most be remembered for his faith having overcome terminal illness 
twice in his life. Once in 1988 when he was diagnosed with lung cancer and then again 
in 2001 when he overcame cancer of the sinus'. He knew where his help came from a nd 
would be the first to tell you that if it hadn't been for the Lord, he would not 
have made it as long as he did. He loved attending church when his health would 
allow and did so at Faith Chapel and Masena Holiness Church.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Carla; a grand-daughter, 
Hannah Davis; two brothers, Beck and Alfred White; and two sisters, Helen Stilwell 
and Geneva Sturm.

He is remembered by those he leaves behind including his wife Patsy, of the home; 
two sons, Owen and Terrill; daughter, Sandra Hall: and grand-son, Jesse Hall, all 
of Tahiequah. He also leaves behind one brother W.M. "Bub" White of Petaluma, CA; 
three sisters, Roxie and husband Floyd Baughman of Muskogee, Joyce Whitlock of 
Boca Raton, FL. and Martha Perry of Ft. Gibson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, 
cousins and friends.
