He was born Jan. 18, 1932, in Welling, to Charles Francise and Ethel Mae (Keeler) Holderbee. Freeman was raised in Welling until he was 15 years old, and then moved to Oklahoma City. He worked as a union roofer for many companies, including Southwestern and Standard Roofing, until he retired. Freeman married Joyce Wyvon Jackson Oct. 8, 1951, in Tahlequah, by Justice of the Peace Charlie Walker. Freeman and Joyce returned to Tahlequah in 1974 after his retirement. Freeman loved rabbit hunting in his younger days. He loved slick, old vehicles and trading them. Freeman also enjoyed playing poker and visiting with friends and family. He liked to make people laugh and would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed help. Freeman was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Ethel Holderbee; three sisters: Daisy Hamby, Roberta and Rosetta Holderbee; and three brothers, Bill, Earl and Charles Holderbee. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce Holderbee; two daughters, Brenda Sue Williams and husband, Gary, of Midwest City and Cindy Jo Samples and husband, Terry, of Woodall; three sons, William Freeman Holderbee and wife, Brenda, of Welling, Richard Lee Holderbee and wife, Donna, of Peggs, and David Alan Holderbee and wife, Denise, of Pryor; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, James Holderbee, of Welling; one sister, Retha Bond of McLoud; and many extended relatives and friends. Graveside Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, at Manus Cemetery, with Rev. Clayton Sellers officiating. Pallbearers will be Mr. Holderbee's grandsons. Services are under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
