Interment will follow at Moodys Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home. Gladys Shankle was born to Raymond and Flossie Belle (Randolph) Rodden on Feb. 22, 1922, and passed away on Nov. 16, 2005, in Tahlequah. Gladys married William Saul Shankle on Oct. 17, 1937, in Teresita. A homemaker, Gladys enjoyed sewing and cooking. She always had food prepared for her family and friends whether they were hungry or not. Gladys also spent time singing at the Prayer House, where she attended church. Gladys will be missed by her family and friends. Gladys is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Alfred Shankle; two sisters, Mary DeGase Shankle and Pearl DeGase Estes; two brothers, Louie DeGase and Hubert DeGase; and a great-grandson, Nicholas Marlow. Gladys is survived by four children, Lester Shankle of Wagoner, Colleen Clark of Tahlequah, Audie Shankle of Tahlequah and Kenneth Shankle of Coweta; one brother, Lee Flanders of Chouteau; twelve grandchildren, Ricky Clark, Curtis Shankle, Janice Clark Rhodes, Carl Shankle, Teresa Shankle White, Shawna McCoy, Kimberly Shankle Marlow, Keith Shankle, Marsha Shankle Clinton, Mike Shankle, Steven Shankle and Sara Shankle; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; as well as many other friends, relatives and loved ones.
