Files may be printed or copied for personal use only. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *************************************************************** TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS TAHLEQUAH, OK APRIL 2, 2002 GLEN LEON NICHOLS Hulbert--Graveside funeral services for Glen Leon Nichols, 86, of Hulbert were held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 5, at the New Home Cemetery with Austin Bennett officiating. Services will be under the direction of the Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah. Glen was born Sept. 5, 1915 in Peggs, the son of Charley and Myrtal (Witt) Nichols, and he passed from this life on Wednesday, Apirl 3, 2002 in Tahlequah. Glen grew up near Peggs and attended Lucky school at Lucky Springs. Glen served in the 180th Infantry of the US Army during World War II, receiving the Silver Star and Bronze Star for Valor , and the Bronze Arrowhead. He married Juanita Thompson on May 10, 1947 and spent his life farming. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Myrtle; his wife Juanita in 1999; two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by a daughter, Glena Nichols of Hulbert; one sister, Lucille Coday and husband Loy of Overland Park, Kansas; one brother, Lewis Nichols and wife Wanda, of Watts; and a host of loved ones and friends.
