Files may be printed or copied for personal use only. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *************************************************************** TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS TAHLEQUAH, OK JOE ENLOW Tahlequah--Funeral services for Joe Enlow, 61, of Tahlequah will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan 18, 2002, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Queen officiating and Leland White delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow at the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the direction of the Reed-Culver Funeral Home. Pallbearers include Bryan Dirteater, Keith Baker, Randy Hale, Bill Looney, Bob Looney and George Looney. Honorary pallbearers are Tom Vanderpool and Clyde Enlow. Joe Enlow was born Nov. 22, 1940 in Qualls, the son of Roy H. and Catherine (Wilson) Enlow, and he passed from this life Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, in Tulsa. Joe grew up in Cherokee County and attended the White Oak School at Qualls. Joe was a 1958 graduate of Tahlequah High School, receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Northeastern State University and his Master's Degree from Oklahoma State University. He was married to Glenda Arthurs for 17 years. Joe was the owner of Joe Enlow Certified Public Accountants from 1972 until 1996. He was very active in many civic and community activities, which included Tahlequah Rotary Club, Lions Club, Masonic Blue Lodge No. 10, Quarterback Club, and the NSU Alumni Association. He was a charter member of Tahlequah Elks Lodge and was a Phi Lambda Chi alumnus. His professional organizations included the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants and AICPA. Joe was elected as Tahlequah City Treasurer. He was married to Cheryl Johnson on Jan. 30, 1987. Joe enjoyed being with friends and the outdoors, and will be remembered for his great sense of humor. Joe was preceded in death by his father; his brother Clyde Enlow; and his half-sister, Edith Day. His survivors include his wife Irene, of the home; his daughters, Jacque Connor and husband Larry and Jennifer Schmitzer and husband Bart, all of Tahlequah, and Dakota Enlow of the home; his sons, Joe "Jody" Enlow Jr. and Jason Enlow and wife Stephanie, all of Tahlequah; his mother, Catherine Wilson Poor of Tahlequah; one brother, Kenneth Poor and wife Joyce of Langley; four sisters, Bonnie White and husband Leland, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Sharon Baker of Tulsa, Ruby Phillips of Vian, and Alta Alford of Wichita, Kans.; and 10 grandchildren, Bryan and Megan Dirteater, Ryan an Marshall Connor, Blake, Brandon and Breanna Schnitzer, and Peyton, Brooke and Christian Enlow.
