Information was given apparently by two different people. In fact, Mr. Crabtree had living two sons and two daughters. His brother had died during the month before. CHEROKEE COUNTY DEMOCRAT-STAR Friday, June 17, 1938, p. 5 c. 7 J.A. Crabtree is called by Death J. A. Crabtree, age 79, died at his home here Sunday, June 12, after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon with the Reverend S. W. Franklin officiating. Among the survivors are his widow, his son, Charlie, of Tahlequah, and his brother of Joplin, Missouri. TAHLEQUAH CITIZEN THURSDAY, June 16, 1938 J. A. CRABTREE SERVICES AT METHODIST CHURCH TUES. Funeral services for John Allen Crabtree, 79, a carpenter, were conducted at the First Methodist church Tuesday afternoon by the Reverend SW Franklin, pastor. Mr. Crabtree died Sunday morning at his home of pneumonia. He was born in Rome (sic) county, Tennessee, and had lived here several years. Surviving him are his son, Charlie Crabtree, and Mrs. Glen Couch, a daughter, both of this city. Interment was made in the City cemetery under the direction of the Reed-Culver funeral home.
