Funeral services for Ellis Johnson, 88, of Kansas, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at Twin Oaks Baptist Church, with Rev. Arch Foreman and Rev. Charles Catcher officiating. Burial will follow at the Long Prairie Cemetery under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah. Pallbearers are John Johnson, Derrick Campos, Kendall Johnson, William Odle, Chris Johnson, and Robert Pataleon. Mr. Johnson was born June 17, 1914, in Cherokee County, the son of Davis and Nancy (Waterfalling) Johnson, and he passed away from this life on Sunday, April 13, 2003, in Tulsa. He grew up in Cherokee County attending school at Liberty. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. On March 15, 1963, he married Elsie Marie Vann at Jay. He was a member of Twin Oaks Baptist Church. He liked going to ball games, watching wrestling on television and teasing people. Ellis was a caring man who dearly loved children. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by one son, Leonard of Broken Arrow, three daughters, Linda Odle of Oaks, Angie Forman and husband Robert Pataleon of Kansas, and Priscilla Forman of Oaks; 21 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and many friends and loved ones. ************************************************************************ copyright 2003 USGenweb http://www.usgwarchives.net ************************************************************************
