Files may be printed or copied for personal use only. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *************************************************************** TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS TAHLEQUAH, OK JANUARY 2002 JIMMIE WASHINGTON Tahlequah--Funeral services for Jimmie Washington, 75, of Tahlequah, will be held at 1p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at the Reed-Culver Chapel with the Rev. D.J. McCarter officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenleaf Cemetery under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah. Pallbearers will be Mark Washington, Jimmie Washington, Marshall Washington, William Deckard, Spanky Thompson, and James Hooper. Honorary pallbearers will be Rickey Deckard, Nathan Deckard, Ramen Washington and Darrel Studie. Jimmie was born on Feb. 13, 1926, at Cookson Hills, the son of Red and Jennie (Dick) Washington, and passed from this life on Dec. 30, 2001, at the Tahlequah City Hospital. He grew up in Cherokee County, attending Sellers School. Jimmie was a labor worker in the nursery business and loved to fish and camp. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents and two daughters, Melba Deckard and Linda Washington. Among those he leaves behind are daughters Joyce (William) Deckard and Violet Washington of Tahlequah; sons David (Billie) Washington of Southwest City, Mo., J.W. Washington of Arizona and Hank (Sushi) Washington of Pegs; one sister, Beside Grasshopper of Tahlequah; and one brother, Sunday Washington, of Ohio; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren
