Services are under the direction of Hart Funeral Home. Letha Doreen Smiley was born in Cromwell, Okla., on Oct. 19, 1931, to Minerva Bell Curtis Hilterbran and Ernest Hilterbran and passed from this life on June 6, 2005 in Tahlequah. Letha grew up in Oklahoma City, and married Roy Gene Smiley on Nov. 2, 1948. Letha and Roy lived in the Oklahoma City area until 1974 and had three children during that time. They moved to Tahlequah, where she lived until she passed from this life. Letha's primary occupation was a homemaker, although she also did bookkeeping for their business, Roy's Garage. She later sold Avon after Roy's death in 1985. Letha is preceded in death by her mother and father, Minerva and Ernest Hilterbran; her husband, Roy Gene Smiley; her brother, Edwin Hilterbran; and one sister, Joyce Willis. Letha is survived by her three children, Ronald Gene Smiley of Park Hill, Debra Lee Hartmann of Oklahoma City, and Tina Dorene Hinds of Park Hill; three sisters; Melba Wilhelm of Benton, Mo., Taleta Davis of Oklahoma City, and Myrna Phillips of Tallahassee, Fla.; two brothers, Freeman Hilterbran and Donald Hilterbran, both of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren, Dana Blazer, Ronald Jay Smiley, Kristina Gross, Kelli Gross, and Taylor Gross; and two great-grandchildren, Alyssa Blazer and Erik Blazer. Letha has also left behind a multitude of wonderful friends she has met over the years. Letha will be remembered for her spark for life and she will be greatly missed!
