Files may be printed or copied for personal use only. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *************************************************************** TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS TAHLEQUAH, OK APRIL 28, 2002 LOYE ESTELLE DORR Tahlequah--Funeral services for Loye Estelle Door, 86, of Tahlequah, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2002, at the First Christian Church of Tahlequah with Dr. Nancy Pittman and Rev. Harry England officiating. Burial will follow at the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the direction of the Reed- Culver Funeral Home. Pallbearers include Jack Dobbins, Bill Hinton, Allen Hicks, Sherman Hayes, Jeff Perry, John Hinton, Garry Roberts and Ed Fite. Honorary pallbearers include L.D. Hayes, Bob Cunningham, Floyd Stierwalt, Ish Knight, Lee Coke, Dr. Ed Fite, Ovon Fisher and Greg Crouch. Loye Estelle Door was born April 10, 1916, in Texarkana, Ark., the daughter of John Melvin and Gladys Irene (Taylor) Dillow, and she departed this life on Thursday, April 25, 2002 in Tahlequah. Loye had attended school at Devol. Her parents owned a phone company in Devol, where she worked as an operator. She later moved to Rush Springs, where she received her licensed practical nursing degree. On Oct. 2, 1933, she married Del Dorr in Dover. They lived in Tribune, Kansas, until moving to Park Hill around 1949. Loye was the former postmistress at Park Hill and was involved in the family trucking and dairy business. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Cherokee County CB Club and the Elks Lodge. An avid bowler, she had won many trophies in local leagues and state tournaments. Her many hobbies included fishing, bingo, rock collecting, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, reading, Scrabble, crocheting and being involved with her kids and grandchildren. Loye was preceded in death by her parents,; her brother, Jarrol Melvin Dillow; and her brother-in-law, Lynn Gammill. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Del, of the home; two sons and their wives, Jerry Lee and Georgiann Dorr and Gary Del and Laurie Dorr, all of Tahlequah; sister Cleeta Joy Gammill of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Jarrod Lee Dorr, Kristi Leann and Dylan Dorr Lucht, Lori Jo Dorr, Cody Del Dorr and Chelsea Diann Dorr; a great-grandson, Matthew Dylan Lulcht; and a special friend, Mickey Adams; ;and many other relatives, as well as a host of friends and loved ones.
