She was born June 14, 1962, in Tahlequah, to Billy Bob Stopp and Margaret (Peake) Stopp. Much of Lisa's youth was spent in Tahlequah with her grandparents, Mary (Goingsnake) and George Stopp and Louise (Breuninger) and Jess Peake, before she moved to Minneapolis, Minn., in 1976. Lisa attended schools in Tahlequah, Minneapolis, Minn., and Oklahoma City, and completed her GED at the University of Nebraska, in 1980. During the past five years she was an artistic assistant to Dana Tiger. She also worked in a program to bring food and the message of recovery to homeless Native American men and women. She struggled with her own recovery and is remembered for her generosity and her volunteer work in the community. She is survived by her son, Gerald DeRay Johnson of Albuquerque, N.M.; her father and stepmother, Bob and Norma Stopp of Tahlequah; her mother and stepfather, Margaret and Elgie Raymond of Tahlequah; her brother, Gary Drew Stopp of Grand Ronde, Ore.; her paternal aunt, Rosie North of Tahlequah; her maternal aunt, Maxine Dugan of Wichita, Kan.; three stepbrothers, Brad Steele, Scott Raymond and Victor Raymond. She will be greatly missed by her many family and friends. A special memorial and graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2005, at Tahlequah City Cemetery, with Pastor D.J. McCarter of Elm Tree Baptist Church, and Pastor Marlene Helgemo of All Nations Indian Church of Minneapolis, Minn., officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah. Pallbearers include Jim Chuculate, Thomas Stopp, Michael Stopp, Jake Stopp, Sam Bradshaw and Brad Peak.
