Files may be printed or copied for personal use only. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *************************************************************** TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS TAHLEQUAH, OK MARCH 13, 2002 LULA MAE WILSON Hulbert-Funeral services for Lula Mae Wilson, 70, of Hulbert were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, in the Reed-Culver Chapel with Rev. Kermit Mullins officiating. Burial followed at the Molly Fields Cemetery under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home. Pallbearers were John Welch, Shannon Gourd, Jarrael Wilson, Sherman Messick, Shawn Patterson, Richard Smith, Shane Wilson and Tony Wilson. Mrs. Wilson was born Nov. 3, 1931 at Springdale Ark. the daughter of Elmer and Della (Boston) Brown and passed from this life on Saturday, March 9, 2002, at the Hilcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. Lula grew up north of Tahlequah on the Illinois River. She attended Loeser School and Bagley High School in Tahlequah. She married Sherman C Wilson on Dec. 4, 1948. Lula was a homemaker and worked seasonally at the Midwestern Nursery. She taught Sunday School and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. For the last several years, she attended the Little Lighthouse Church. Mrs Wilson is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Sherman, on March 4, 2001, and two brothers. She is survived by five daughters, Judy Messick of Hulbert, Leona Welch and husband Charley of Hulbert, Brenda Rose of Tulsa, Patricia Smith and husband Richard of Tulsa, and Karen Garcia and husband Steven of Oakdale, Calif.; four sons, Earl Wilson and wife Geneva of Tahlequah, and Cecil, Jerry and Terry Wilson, all of Hulbert; two sisters, Opal Nelson of Tahlequah and Ann Clark of Fort Smith, Ark.; as well as 32 granchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and a host of friends and loved ones.
