Files may be printed or copied for personal use only. *************************************************************** TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS TAHLEQUAH, OK MARCH 27, 2002 MABEL MAXINE HELFER Tahlequah-Funeral services for Mabel Maxine Helfer, 78, will be held at noon Thursday, March 28, at the First Lutheran Church of Tahlequah with Rev. Bruce Alberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery, under the direction of Hart Funeral Home. Mable Maxine Helfer daughter of Clarence (CL) and Thelma (Myers) Lovell, was born Jan. 15, 1924 in Pinch, W. Va., and died Monday, March 25, 2002 in Tahlequah. Maxine was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Tahlequah, where she loved to be involved in the church choir and church activities. Maxine married Raymond Helfer in 1944 at the U.S. Airforce base in Dalhart, Texas. Maxine enjoyed traveling with Raymond in their motor home. Raymond and her parents preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Steve Helfer of Tahlequah and Randy Helfer of Edmond; two sisters, June Mills of Amarillo, Texas and Martha Lee Lotspiech of Floydada, Texas; one brother, Bud Myers of Amarillo, Texas; two grandchildren, Jennifer Helfer and Matthew Helfer of Tahlequah; one great- grandson, David Chirstian Helfer as well as a host of loved ones and friends.
