Terry Stone officiating. Interment will be in Park Hill under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.Serving as pallbearers will be Blake Clark, Gerald Fisher, Benny Owens, Jack Webb, Walter Dye Jr. and Clif Hall. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Westfall, Bob Jackson, Larry Hayes and Calvin VanZandt.Nannie was born March 18, 1926, in Hulbert, the daughter of Harrison Dye and Mary Polly (Downing) Dye. On June 22, 1948, she said her vows with William “Henry” Carter, starting a marriage that would last over 57 years and would produce two children. Nannie was of the Pentecostal faith. She and her husband were in the ministry for 50 years, pastoring six area churches over the course of their years of service to the Lord. These included: Masena Holiness Church, Faith Chapel Pentecostal Church of God, Briggs Holiness Church, Prayer House Church, Keys Faith Mission and Bethesda Community Church.Nannie was a member of the Cherokee tribe and served as cashier at Tsa La Gi Indian Village for the first three years of operation. She was a devoted housewife and mother. Nannie was an exceptional cook and was well known for her homemade pies.Nannie departed this life on Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at her home at the age of 81 years.Preceding her in death were her parents; her loving husband, Henry, of 57 years; and two sisters, Pearl Mathewson of Wagoner and Roxie Johnson of Bartlesville.Survivors include daughters Patricia Henson of Tulsa, Loretta Carter of Tahlequah, and special “adopted” daughter Carolyn Allen of Tahlequah; one sister, Aleen Fisher and husband, Barto, of Jenks; one brother, Walter Dye and wife, Delores, of Talihina; as well as several nieces, nephews and a host of friends and loved ones.
