The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ====================================================== Posted by Terrill White on 25Nov2005 Services for Quatie Diffee, age 89, will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with David Deffenbaugh officiating. Interment will follow at Tahlequah City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Dennis Beyer, John Anderson, Chat Anderson, James Wilson, Kenney Diffee and Ronnie Smith. Quatie was born on Oct. 12, 1916, in Wauhilla, to Silas and Annie Shirley Young and passed from this life on Nov. 19, 2005, in Tahlequah. After being born, Quatie was taken to the Riddle family household, where she was raised by George (Dad) and Fannie (Mam) until she finished school. Quatie attended Wauhilla School and on Jan. 27, 1934, she became the bride of John Virgil Diffee in Stilwell. To this union, three children were born. She devoted her time to domestication skills to keep her husband and children happy. She made the most wonderful pancakes and curry was her specialty. An avid gardener and seamstress, she excelled in both hobbies. She loved attending Home Demonstration Club and Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stilwell and attended the First Baptist Church of Tahlequah as well. A loving and kind friend, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Quatie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John V. Diffee; daughter, Jan Diffee, in 2004; one son, Kenny Diffee, in 1984; three brothers, Jack, Charlie and Ed Young; and Mam and Dad Riddle. Quatie is survived by her son, Enoch Diffee and wife Jennie “Penni” of Van Buren, Ark.; one brother, Oliver Sweet and wife Norma Lee of Edmond; three grandchildren, Dennis Beyer and wife Terri of Owasso, John Anderson and wife Gayla of Tahlequah, and Kenney Diffee of Houston, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Chat Anderson and Morgan Anderson, both of Tahlequah; and a host of friends and loved ones.
