She departed this life Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, in Peggs, at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 16 days. As a child, Levina attended schools in Peggs. On Jan. 7, 1937, Rhoda Levina Nichols and Frank Applegate were united in marriage. Levina was a resident of Peggs for most of her life. She attended the Free Will Baptist Church in Peggs. She was a dedicated homemaker, loving and caring for her family. Levina enjoyed talking on the phone with family and friends, sewing and mending clothes, fishing and going to craft shows when she could. She is survived by five children, Clifford Applegate and wife Erma Lee of Peggs, Gene Applegate and wife Lois of Peggs, Rhoda Burgess of Tahlequah, Kennith Applegate of Peggs and Ada Cannonie and husband Joe of Tahlequah; 18 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jane Ward of Locust Grove and Maggie Brixey of Jay; one foster son, Howard Patton of Fayetteville, Ark.; Numerous other relatives; and a host of friends. Levina was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Applegate; one son, Jeff Applegate; one son-in-law, Bill Burgess; and one great-grandson, Nick Applegate. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, at the Peggs Community Church in Peggs. Reverend Henry Fine will officiate. Interment will follow at the New Home Cemetery in Peggs. Services are entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
