Files may be printed or copied for personal use only. *************************************************************** TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS TAHLEQUAH, OK MARCH 26, 2002 ROBERT SOURJOHN Tahlequah-Funeral Services for Robert Sourjohn, 78, of Tahlequah will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 27 at the Reed-Culver Funeral Home with Rev. Faye Bell and Rev. Harold Bell officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at the Moody Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Reed-Culver Funeral Home. Pallbearers include Keith Lawrence, Kevin Lawrence, Danny Bell, Doyle Bell, Heath Martin and Patrick Wetson. Robert Sourjohn was born July 16, 1923, at Rocky Ford, the son of Eli and Maggie (Dirteater) Sourjohn, and he passed from this life Saturday, March 23, 2002, in Tulsa. Robert grew up and attended school at Teresita. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He fought with the 145th Infantry in the Asiatic Theater and the liberation of the Philippines. After his discharge, he returned to Oklahoma, where he met and married Billie Puckett Nov. 8, 1947. Robert was a member of Teamsters Local 524 and was a truck driver for Roadway Trucking, retiring in 1986. HE was ordained in 1976 at Eastside General Baptist Church in Tulsa. He ministered at Eastside General Baptist and Mt. Zion General Baptist Church at Teresita. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Carla Faye Skinner; sisters Betty Jean Sourjohn, Lizzie Buzzard, Georgia Mankiller and Susie Ruth Cobb; and brothers Henry, Ben and Frankie Sourjohn. He is survived by his wife, Billie of the home; son Kyle and wife Heather, of Tahlequah; daughter Gina Sourjohn of Tahlequah; brother Louie Sourjohn of California; grandchildren Kendall Perry, Courtney Perry, Laura Sourjohn, Kaylae Sourjohn, Kaden Sourjohn and Maggie Sourjohn; great-granddaughter Cambria Leach; as well as many other relatives, loved ones and friends.
