Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Hulbert. Services are under the direction of Mallett Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Rick Conley, Rick Waits, Jim Waits, Howard Daniels, Olen Purgett and Delbert Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Cleo Harris, Kermit Rhodes, Travis Rhodes and Jim Rhodes. Ward Lee Henderson was born September 15, 1901 at Ray to Mr and Mrs Andrew Jackson Henderson, and died Wednesday August 28, 2002 at a hospital in Tulsa. He was preceded in death by his wife Stella Henderson; his parents; and all his brothers and sisters. Henderson was married to the former Stella Farmer on March 3, 1930. He was a farmer most of his life. He loved to work with wood, making "critters" which he placed in his yard for the enjoyment of passers by. He greatly appreciated animals of all kinds, both his pets and wild birds, squirrels and others that he made feeding stations. One of his favorite pastimes was attending musical programs at the Wagoner Civic Center. He is survived by his daughter, Muriel Payne of Hulbert; numerous nieces and nephews, including A.C. and Mildred Waits, and Darrell and Betty Wilson; and other relatives and friends.
