A native of Hugo, Oklahoma was born February 14, 1916. Age 91. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Mike and Karen Austin of Fremont, Norman and Josie Austin of Pioneer, CA and Bette Abina of Fremont. Devoted grandmother of Kristi, Nick, Michelle, Katie, Megan, David, Linda, Rick, Tim, Kathie, Julie and John. Cherished great- grandmother of 15. Sister of Annis Marie Miller of San Leandro, Vernon Baughman of Auburn, CA and Vance Baughman of Yakima, WA. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Preceded by parents, Bessie and Joseph Baughman; husband of 44 years, Bud Austin; son, Dick Lane, and sisters, Beatrice, Izora, Juanita, and Zella. Mildred worked as a cook at Alameda Naval Air station where she met her husband, Bud. Along with Bud she was a charter member of Alder Avenue Baptist Church. She was always very active in church activities and was a member of the choir. Mildred worked for more than 20 years and retired as manager of Bob's Giant Burgers in Fremont. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, cooking, was an avid music lover, and loved to sing. Family was very important to Mildred, and she was always doing things for the children. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 3, 2007, 4-8 p.m. at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont. The funeral service will be Sunday, March 4, 2007 2 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial Tuesday 11 a.m. at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Gustine, CA.
