Amarillo Globe News 14 Nov 1997 Era Bell Barker Era Bell Barker, 97, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Park Funeral Home East Mausoleum, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Wayne Sheffield of Trinity United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Barker moved to Amarillo in 1936 from Waco. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's Organization. She married Cecil Thomas Barker in 1936 at Boswell, Okla. He died in 1988. Survivors include three sons, Virgil Barker of Canyon, Jim Barker of Sacramento, Calif., and Mel Barker of Olympia, Wash.; a daughter, Ruby Boyd of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren; 15 greatgrandchildren; and four great- great-grandchildren. The family will be at 6710 Hatton Road. They request memorials be to a favorite charity.
