Winnie Spears Bartley

TULIA - Winnie Spears Bartley, 89, died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Calvary Baptist Church with Ted Ray 
Bartley officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace 
Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bartley was born in Boswell, Okla. She was a graduate of Texas Tech 
University. A teacher, she was employed by Wilson Independent School 
District for 22 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She married Newman N. Bartley in 1932 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1987.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley B. Rhoades of Tulia; two sons, Jerry 
O. Bartley of Lubbock and Ted J. Bartley of Tulia; a sister, Lois Jaynes 
of Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers, Otis Spears of Roswell, N.M., and 
Wayne Spears of Albuquerque; five grandchildren; and eight great-
grandchildren.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be to the National 
Osteoporosis Foundation, American Diabetes Association or American Heart 
Association.
