James Wheeler Canida

MEMPHIS - James Wheeler Canida, 63, died Monday, Jan. 5, 1998.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Travis Baptist Church with the 
Rev. Bob Reid officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Spicer 
Funeral Home.

Mr. Canida was born in Clarksville. He was a musician and was employed as 
a salesman by the Kirby Co. for 27 years.

He married Pearl Hearn in 1996 at Hugo, Okla. He was preceded in death by 
a daughter, Lonelle Crawford.

Survivors include his wife; his mother, Laura Canida of Amarillo; three 
sons, Allen Canida and Danny Canida, both of Amarillo, and Michael James 
Canida of Marshall, Ark; three daughters, Cindy Wheeler of Amarillo, 
Barbara Bice of Altus, Okla., and Tammy Gonzales of Waco; three 
stepdaughters, Sandra Norvelle, Lisa Franklin and Kelly Wiggins, all of 
Memphis; four brothers, Charles Canida of Amarillo, W.C. Canida of 
Hutchins, Ronald Canida of Kaufman and Robert Canida of Dallas; and four 
sisters, Nadine Hill, Clara McCauley, Joyce Collins and Imogene Merrill, 
all of Amarillo; and nine grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity.
