All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Amarillo Globe News 11 Sep 1998 Gladys Pierce Cranford MORTON - Gladys Pierce Cranford, 86, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Morton with Bret Freeman, her grandson from Longview, officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Cranford was born in Wolfe City and moved to the Maple community in 1944. She moved to Morton in 1978. She was a member of Morton Senior Citizens where she was named Senior Citizen of the Year in 1985. She was a homemaker and member of Eastside Church of Christ. Her first marriage was to Gene Pierce in 1930 at Hugo, Okla. He died in 1962. She then married Grady Cranford in 1969 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1978. Survivors include three sons, Roy L. Pierce of Morton, Willie Pierce of Whiteface and Stephen Glen Pierce of Andrews; a stepson, Doug Cranford of Coquille, Ore.; a daughter, Carol Gattis of Morton; four brothers, Truman Kelley of Beaumont, Travis Kelley of Morton, Alton Kelley of Mesquite and Troy Kelley of Greenville; 13 grandchildren; 19 greatgrandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren.
