She was 77. She was born in Hugo, Okla. She was schooled in Muleshoe, Texas. She received a teaching credential from McMurry University of Abilene, Texas. Garth moved to Northern California in 1960. She lived in Ukiah where she worked as a secretary at the Ukiah Methodist Church until moving to Santa Rosa in 1970. She also was a homemaker. She is survived by her son, Al Garth of Santa Rosa; daughters, Carol Ferrell and Glenda Sue Hurley, both of Santa Rosa; brother, Clyde Holt of Muleshoe, Texas; sister, Helen Gardner of Charlotte, N.C.; and three grandchildren. She and her late husband, Lester Payne Garth, were married 49 years. A gathering of family and friends will be held at 1 p.m. Jan. 27 in the Recreation Room of the Colonial Park Mobile Home Estates, north of Fulton Road on Old Redwood Highway.
