Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First Baptist Church of Floydada with Michael Holster, music minister, officiating. Burial will be in Floydada Cemetery by Moore-RoseWhite Funeral Home of Floydada. Mr. Nelson was born in Hugo, Okla., and moved to Floyd County from Paris in 1942. In 1946, he moved to Floydada where he attended school. A veteran of the Army, Mr. Nelson managed B.E. Needles & Son Tire Store in Floydada and was a salesman at Cloverlake Dairy in Lubbock. He was a Baptist. Survivors include a son, Richard D. Nelson of Daingerfield; two daughters, Branda Meyers of Floydada and Charlotte Harte of Daingerfield; two brothers, Gene Nelson of Lubbock and Lloyd Nelson of Hugo; three sisters, Irene Reeves of Floydada, Catherine Lester of Hugo and Lois Cowan of Wilmer; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
