All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== :Fort Towson Cemetery--Fort Towson OK Lawton Constitution 6 Jul 2003 Gladys Peebles FORT TOWSON — Funeral for Gladys Peebles, 79, Fort Towson, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Corinth Baptist Church, Fort Towson, with the Rev. Troy Ruffin and the Rev. Ronnie Miller officiating. Mrs. Peebles died Saturday, July 5, 2003, in Hugo. Burial will be at Fort Towson Cemetery under direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home, Hugo. She was born Aug. 7, 1923, in Swink to Tony Davis and Flora Neely Davis. She lived all her life in the Fort Towson area. She married Dink Peebles on Nov. 23, 1942, in DeQueen, Ark. He died June 6, 2003. She was a homemaker and a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Disabled American Veterans. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters: Jean Setzer and husband Jim, Lawton; and Elvie Jo "Sissie" Peebles and companion Rocky Jones, Fort Towson; four grandchildren: Lanette Davis and husband, David, Blue Ridge, Texas; Troy Logan and wife Annette, Swink; J. D. Setzer and wife, Brenda, Walters; and Don Setzer and wife, Christin, Geronimo; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Bill Davis, John Davis and Tommy Davis; seven sisters: Lucille Little, Bonnie Davis, Stella Buhl, Mary Collins, Rosie Bauer, Jessie Davis and Aline Steward.
