Stanfield died peacefully at his home on January 21, 2005. Waymon was born July 28, 1940, in Apple, Oklahoma. On December 17, 1960 he wed Dorothy L. Springman in Gold Hill, Oregon. Waymon was employed with Medford Moulding in 1972 until his retirement in 1996. Waymon loved fishing, hunting and trapping. He shared this joy with his grandchildren. He told his oldest grandson that when he died to tell everyone he went "to set up camp." He was a generous, humorous man who loved his family dearly. He spent his days camping, fishing and hunting with them. He saved every card, picture and project that his kids and grandkids gave him. He could usually be found watching his grandsons wrestle for Eagle Point schools, fishing the Rogue River or hunting a big buck on Denman. He enjoyed morel mushroom hunting in the spring and watching a thunderstorm in the summer. Our husband, dad and grandpa will be dearly missed. He left us with many cherished memories. He spent everyday with his grandchildren and played a big part in raising them. Although his death deeply saddens our family, we are left with a sense of peace because we know he is camping in heaven with his daughter Dorna. In addition to his wife Dorothy, Waymon is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Antony and Sue Stanfield of White City; daughter and son- in-law, Elizabeth and Scott Martin of Eagle Point; grandchildren, Stephen and Brandon Price of Eagle Point, Michael and Nikki Stanfield of White City and Josie Stanfield, Erik, Tanner and Morgan Martin of Eagle Point; also, his close friend and brother, Bo Stanfield of Shady Cove; brother and sister-in-law, Ollis and Carol Stanfield of Phoenix; sister and brother-in-law, Emma Joe and Whimpy McCarty of Arkansas; sister, Pat Stanfield of Talent; sister, Billie June Spalding of White City; brother, Johnny Stanfield of White City; and several nieces and nephews. Waymon is preceded in death by his daughter, Dorna Stanfield, parents Dan and Belzoni Stanfield; two sisters, and three nephews.
