CST, at East Side Church of Christ with Joey Pierce of officiating. Burial will be in Enoch Cemetery, in Enoch, Texas. George Died June 4, 2007 in Portales, N.M. He was born May 2, 1935, in Bailey County, Texas. He married Treva Jo Thompson, in Boise City, Okla., on Sept. 19, 1959. George was a member of 3rd and Kilgore Church of Christ in Portales, N.M. George served as a board member for Roosevelt County Electric for nine years and board member of Roosevelt County FSA. George was active in the American Agriculture Movement and he was a former owner of Autry Water Well Drilling Company. He was a farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Treva Jo, of Portales; a son, Wesley Autry Jr., of Dora, N.M.; two daughters, Shonnye and her husband, David Staber, of Coppell, Texas, Teresa Varnell, of Dora, N.M.; a sister, Myrna Turney, of Levelland; two brothers, John, of Edinburgh, Texas and Gene, of Houston; and six grandchildren, Danielle, Tori, Chase, Preston, Cassidy and Mackenzie. Memorial contributions may be made to the Enochs Cemetery, c/o Wanda Layton, 3140 CR, Morton, Texas or your favorite charity.
