Copeland KEYES, Okla. - Lawrence W. Copeland, 69, died Saturday, April 19, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with Jason Kearney, pastor, and the Rev. Derek Cox officiating. Burial with military graveside honors will be in Willowbar Cemetery by Cimarron Mortuary. Mr. Copeland was born in Bucklin, Kan. He was raised on the family farm near Mullinville, Kan. He attended and graduated from the Mullinville school. After high school he attended business college at Hutchinson, Kan. He started farming and moved to Cimarron County to farm the Copeland homestead. He served his country as a medic in Germany. After serving in the Army he settled on the Copeland homestead. He married Leora Jean Sizemore in 1951 at Bucklin. He was a member of First Baptist Church, the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge. He also was a lifetime member of the American Association of Retired Persons. Survivors include his wife; a son, Glen Copeland of Keyes; two daughters, Melinda Robinson of Boise City and Lanita Miller of Woodward; a brother, Earnest Copeland of Littleton, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
