All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Willowbar Cemetery--Keyes OK Willa Ruth David KEYES, Okla. - Willa Ruth David, 95, a Cimarron County pioneer, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 1996, at Guymon. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Keyes United Methodist Church with the Rev. Del Watkins, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Willowbar Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon. Mrs. David was born in Montague County, Texas. She pioneered with her family to the Oklahoma Panhandle from Marathon, Texas, in 1914, and homesteaded northeast of what is now Keyes. She graduated from Panhandle Agricultural Institute at Goodwell in 1931. She taught in several country schools in Cimarron County. She married Charles Franklin David in 1934 at Keyes. They farmed in the Keyes area. Her husband died in 1982. She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Vera Faye David and Myoma David, both in 1945. Survivors include two sons, Everett Neil David of Winlock, Wash., and C.F. David of Dumas, Texas; a sister, Lorena Harryman of Keyes; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A Willa David Memorial has been established for the OPSU Foundation. The donations will be designated to the Frank and Willa David Scholarship at the college. Memorials will be accepted at Henson- Novak Funeral Home, Box 1306, Guymon, Okla. 73942.
