Byerley I.N. Byerley I.N. "Ike" Byerley, 80, of Amarillo, died Saturday, July 6, 2002. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Bennet of Freedom Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Byerley was born Jan. 10, 1922, in Boise City, Okla. He retired in 1966 from the Air Force as a lieutenant colonel after 27 years of service. He married Wilma Jo Hale on March 11, 1941, and she preceded him in death in 1987. He was active in real estate as well as oil and gas. He married Beverly Jameson on June 29, 1990. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael Byerley of Waco and William Byerley of Arlington; a daughter, Melinda Hawkins of Alexandria, Va.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Amarillo Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Amarillo Globe-News, July 8, 2002
