Submitted by: Ginette VandenOever g1vanden@airmail.net ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Obituary of James Robert Fry James Robert Fry, son of Jerome Fry and Margaret, was born July 15, 1876, in White County, Indiana and passed away at Morton County Hospital at Elkhart, Kans., May 5, 1965 at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 20 days. James Fry and Mollie Wieand were married March 6, 1900 and to this union were born six children, three sons and three daughters. Jim, as he was known, homesteaded in Cimarron county in 1906 and moved his family here in 1907. They moved from their homestead to Elkhart in 1923 and entered the cafe business. In 1925 the moved to Keyes, Okla. and established the first cafe in this town and operated it for several years. He later entered the trucking business which he continued until he retired. Jim and Mollie celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary March 6, 1965. He leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved wife of the years, Mollie, Theodore Manford Fry of Grants Pass, Ore., Viola Irene Young of Keyes, Robert Elsworth of Keyes, Ida Dewayne McCabe of Boise City, Iva Marie Hunter of Reno, Nev., Clarence Edwin (Sonny) Fry who preceded him in death, 18 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Jim was always kind to his children and a man of few words but many friends.
