Amarillo Globe News 29 April 1998 Bill McEvers DALHART - Bill McEvers, 87, died Monday, April 27, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Christian Church with Ray M. Guy, minister, and Chad Barnett, associate minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home. Mr. McEvers was born in Lawrenceburg, Tenn. He was raised in Kansas and Illinois. He married Mildred Hoffman in 1932 at Boise City, Okla. They farmed in the Rehm community before moving to Dalhart in 1946. Mr. McEvers was a carpenter and building contractor in Dalhart before retiring in 1975. He was a member of the local Carpenter's Union for more than 50 years. He was a member of First Christian Church. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Duane McEvers of Amarillo and Larry McEvers of Dalhart; a daughter, JoAnn Bell of Lake Meredith; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two greatgreat- grandchildren. The family will be at 1801 Apache.
