Sammy Joe Parsley

PAMPA - Sammy Joe Parsley, 59, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. John Valdez, pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, and the Rev. Delbert White, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Parsley was born in Borger. He moved to Pampa in 1946 from Felt, Okla.
He graduated from Felt High School and attended Panhandle State University at Goodwell, Okla. He had been a roofing estimator for Parsley Roofing Co. for 30 years. He attended St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. He also was a square dance caller for 20 years.
Mr. Parsley married Robin Lynne Rose in 1981 at Pampa.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Roy Don Parsley of Amarillo; four daughters, Sammie Jo Parsley of the home, Miki Davis and Mandy Hearn, both of Pampa, and Mona Parsley of St. Louis; three brothers, Larry Parsley of Pampa, Lonnie Parsley of Weatherford, Okla., and the Rev. Sid Parsley of Lazbuddie; a sister, Sallie Mae Stidger of Amarillo; and eight grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
