Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church in Keyes with the Rev. Jason Kearney, pastor, and the Rev. Billy Ramage, pastor of First Baptist Church of Clayton, N.M., officiating. Arrangements are by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon. Mrs. Smalts was born in Amarillo and lived in Masterson, Texas, before moving to Keyes in 1959. She graduated from Keyes High School. She was actively involved in the family farm, 4-H, her children's activities and drove the school bus. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she taught Vacation Bible School for many years. Mrs. Smalts was involved in public speaking, served as president of SORD and was a board member of the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality. She also was the chairman of the Cimarron County Republican Party. She was married to Zane Raymond Smalts in 1964 at Keyes. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Janell Smalts of Norman; two sons, Randy Smalts of Dallas and Travis Smalts of Forgan; her mother, Eloise Owens of Amarillo; a brother, Gary Owens of Amarillo; and a granddaughter. Friends may call from noon until 9 p.m. today or from 9 until 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family requests memorials be to the Carla Smalts Memorial for the OU Institute of Breast Health. They may be forwarded to Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, P.O.
