Lou Ellen Strong

BOISE CITY, Okla. - Lou Ellen Elland Livingston Strong, 81, died Monday, June 22, 1998.
The family gathered on June 26 to scatter her ashes at her place of choice. Arrangements were by Cimarron Mortuary.
Mrs. Strong was born in a half-dugout, half-rock house on the edge of the Cimarron River. She grew up in Cimarron County, where she attended school until ninth grade, when she began to work to support herself. She married Otis Livingston, who preceded her in death. During World War II she lived in Wichita, Kan., where she worked for Boeing Aircraft.
In 1948 she married Cy Strong and returned to Cimarron County to ranch with her husband. He died in 1966. In 1994 Mrs. Strong moved to Boise City but often returned to the ranch.
Also preceding her in death was a son, Paul Livingston, and one grandchild.
Survivors include three children, Jerry Livingston of Wichita, Kan., Pat Judkins of Amarillo and Frances Glass of Boise City; a brother, Joe Bailey Elland; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be to B.R. Ogston Scholarship Fund in care of the mortuary.
